Brittany Prince, CEO + Founder

Brittany Prince received a BS from the University of South Carolina in Public Health and a Master of Health Administration from Clayton State University. Currently enrolled at Georgia Southern University, Brittany is pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health. Brittany is a proud graduate of Emory Healthcare’s Operation Development Program and Quality Academy and has also received a Health Coach Certification and Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from Emory university. She is also a certified group and fitness instructor.

She is the CEO and Founder of WellStart Initiatives. Brittany also serves as an Assistant Director of the Urban Health Initiative for Emory University School of Medicine and the CEO of Britany Monea Consulting Firm. She is the Atlanta City Chair of G100 Mental Health Wing. She is a member of

Formally, Brittany was the President of Clayton State University Young Alumni Council, Vice President of Healthcare Businesswomen Association of Atlanta, and Vice President of DeKalb’s Men’s Health Task Force. Organizations such as Eta Sigma Gamma, International Coach Federation, Minority Health Connection, Live Healthy DeKalb Coalition, and Bloom are just a few of the many committees Brittany is involved with.

She received the following awards: Healthcare Businesswomen Association Everest Award, Wonderfully Woman Bloom Honoree, and National Society of Leadership and Success Impact Leader Award. Brittany created a book club called Books and Brunch as a way to encourage reading among African American millennials. She is a certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer. Brittany enjoys hiking and reading.

Dr. Courtney Maclin, Mental Health Director

Dr. Courtney Maclin, is a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist. She earned here doctorate degree from University of Memphis, but it was during her time at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University she developed her passion for optimizing community, specifically Black, health through the study of the psyche. She is currently in private practice treating patients presenting with various mental health concerns, specializing in supporting individuals who are managing chronic illness, seeking healthy lifestyle changes, has developed depression/anxiety which is exacerbated by their health, or need medical clearance evaluations. Her research interests are broadly culturally-informed health psychology, exploring the intersection between mental and physical health. When she is not working, Dr. Maclin enjoys exploring the world with her two sons, playing tennis, dancing, or being outdoors.

Whitney Amey,

START-Empowering Manager

Whitney “Fit Whit” Amey is a certified personal trainer, motivator, and lifestyle coach! She specializes in weight loss management and healthy habit building. The Resilient Results LLC brand was formed back in 2017 after winning her debut Body Building contest and while simultaneously dealing with the news of her terminally father!

Through spiritual fasting, she adopted a vegan lifestyle which in turn strengthened her desire to spread the benefits of healthy living to other. Since then, her mission has been to lead and guide those in her community to better health by leading healthier lifestyles!

Chelsey Curry, Board of Directors

Chelsey Curry is an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant, currently serving the underserved population in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.

Chelsey is an alumna of The University of South Carolina, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, and a minor in Psychology. She continued her education at The Medical University of South Carolina earning a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Chelsey is the creator of BrownSkinMedicine; a digital platform that seeks to raise medical awareness within the African American community.

Chelsey enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the city of Atlanta.

Katreena Mitchell, Board of Directors

Katreena Mitchell is passionate about serving her community and improving the health and wellness of underserved and minority communities. She is the program manager at the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education where she leads programming efforts for cancer navigation and survivorship. She is also the owner of online bakery, Flour Lane Dessert Studio. Katreena is from South Carolina but currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Katreena earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the College of Charleston and a Master of Public Health degree from Georgia Southern University.

Morgan M. Tapp, Esq., Board of Directors

CPT Morgan M. Tapp has dedicated herself to public service, serving as an Attorney in the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps. As a Judge Advocate in the Army, Morgan deployed to Iraq and Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Morgan is originally from Columbia, SC and received her law degree from Emory University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Hampton University. In her spare time, she enjoys attending festivals, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

Ivan M. Warner, Board of Directors

Ivan Warner is a Senior Financial Analyst for Emory University School of Medicine.

Ivan has been crunching numbers in higher education for over 20 years with New York University School of Medicine, George Mason University, and Emory University. He developed his enthusiasm for spreadsheet modeling and working with large data sets as an undergraduate using Lotus 1-2-3! He received his B.S. in Business from Florida State University and MBA from Emory University.

Ivan is from New Rochelle, New York currently living in the Atlanta metro area. He is married with two children (now young adults!). He loves music, movies, and most things tech (yes, a bit of a techie).
